Tim Lucas is the author of the novels Throat Sprockets (1994, included in Jones & Newman’s Horror: Another 100 Best Books) and The Book of Renfield: A Gospel of Dracula (2005), and the Saturn Award-winning critical biography Mario Bava—All the Colors of the Dark (2007)
A leading authority on horror and fantastic cinema, he has been editor and co-publisher of the long-running and influential Video Watchdog (1990-2017); a critic, columnist and contributor for other magazines from Sight & Sound to Fangoria; the man behind Video WatchBlog for 1500+ entries; and the audio commentator on more than 125 international DVDs and Blu-ray releases.
Now in his 50th year as a professional writer and critic, Lucas has published short stories, reviews, monographs, screenplays, poetry, comics scripts—and now music. He is the proud recipient of 20 Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards to date, including (with his wife Donna) the Rondo Legacy Award for Lifetime Achievement.
