The Extras, the first Podcast release from Otaku Media, is set to launch on June 3rd, 2021 with a focus on “Supernatural.” Other shows planned for the summer will include discussions on “Friends,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and DC Animated titles. Hosted by bonus extras producer Tim Millard, the podcast will focus on interviews with stars, producers, cast and crew, and uniquely, bonus content producers and marketing executives. “I wanted to transition what I did in the behind-the-scenes extras and bring it to podcasting and online media, “ said Tim Millard. “I’m very excited about the immediacy of the medium.”

At the heart of The Extras is Mr. Millard’s belief that the bonus extras that the studios spend millions of dollars on are not fully appreciated by the fans. “The quality of the work is amazing,” Mr. Millard relates, “we have some of the best documentary producers working on these featurettes and in The Extras, we’re going to highlight their work in the context of the broader show. It’s going to be a real benefit for the fans.”

Otaku Media is a digital media company focused on strengthening the connection between TV shows, Films, and Animation to their fans. “Otaku” in Japanese refers to a person who is obsessed with popular culture.
